People wanting a system that only benefits the rich are extremely selfish,
    in my opinion..

Funny how some comments insist that the usa is no.1 in healthcare! Not even
close , the facts are clear. But the lobbying, money to be made culture in
the US is priority for ur system. Come to europe where we wont ask for ur
credit card if u have a heart attack

The US might have some of the best hospitals and doctors in the world but
access to them is limited to a particular income bracket. In addition, as
the senator for Vermont stated, health care access is not the issue,
clinics are in abundance in the US its the insurance issue and
affordability issue that are the problem….These are key takeaways.

Thank you, Bernie, for having the sense to ask the question of what we can
learn from other countries—a question that would seem foreign to too many
    Americans.

I love the fact that Obama has, at least, implemented an affordable health
care system. But it pisses me off that he refuses to see what does and what
does not work in other countries that have a universal health care system.
His whole philosophy is like, “This is ‘Merica! We don’t need to see what
other countries are doing right or wrong and plan accordingly.”

Compared to other countries that provide healthcare for everyone, employed,
unemployed, rich, poor, they’re all entitled to healthcare. The US is like
a 3rd world country compared to others. Absolutely appalling!

My god, a Senate hearing that actually made sense. That panel of witnesses
ripped the US a new one. Single payer works people, *deal with it!*

The Democrats are as afraid of opposing financial forces as the Republicans
who suck up to Big Money in their fear. So, as Congress, the Presidency is
held hostage by Big Corporate Lobbyist and the money the wheeled less they
lose that backing and oppose a corporate puppet in the next election.
It will not change until the American people vote them all out (except Sen.
Sanders and Elizabeth Warren); elect and retain only those whose
immediately abolish Lobbyist forever and follow the dictates of the
    American people.
The millions of American people will decide the future of America, not a
few thousand Lobbyist. If and only if the people get smart, ended the
propagated division, and find some courage to go into the future and leave
    the past in the past.

Enjoy your waiting times under single payer.
He also forgets to mention the Canadians coming here for healthcare, and
people from other countries coming here for treatment too.

Well, after hearing all the compelling evidence in favor of single payer it
is obvious why Obama couldn’t possibly have sold the American people on
it. Of course he already had our votes by then so it was time to serve the
    corporate masters of D.C..

A single pay system will only work if hospitals are forced not to charge
horrendous prices. Someone has to pay the bill guys.. figure it out.

Bernie’s at it again! That was a marvelous piece of rhetoric at the end of
this committee. Due to the fact that Canada is close to the United States,
its citizens are all aware of exactly how the US healthcare system works.
Since everyone in Canada is using the Canadian healthcare system, and are
somehow completely aware of how the US does it, they must think theirs is
    better!

    Thanks for the laughs, senator.

Canadians have better outcomes than the U.S. and they spend less but their
system is UNDERFUNDED compared with France and France spends substantially
    LESS than the U.S.
