Question by Solongsolo: What is the best career to go for, holistic / complimentary therapy or physiotherapy?
I have always been interested in mind body and soul but I was just wondering what the difference between physiotherapy and complimentary therapy? Also what about income?
Also have you ever had treatments from holistic therapy or physiotherapy? Are you a physiotherapist / holistic therapist?
What are your experiences?

You can offer many different disciplines to patients. As far as treatment options go, as a patient, I would choose physiotherapy last because it’s not as effective as laser, scenar, acupuncture, homeopathy, chiropractic, not necessarily in that order.
Physiotherapy is “old school”.
If you’re good at what you do and have a sincere interest in healing people, the income will look after itself. If you’re in it for the money and you’re incompetent, you’ll be pooched when people don’t come back or refer their friends.
Word gets around.

Question by fischer61: Why is taking exercise before food best to health and exercise after food adversely affect health?
I heard from everyone that “take exercise before taking food. It is good to health. But taking exercise after food adversely affect health” Why?
Answers 1 and 3 are not good. Answer to the question please.

You can exercise whenever you want too. I would advise not to workout at least 1-2 hours after eating because you don’t want to get sick!

Question by Daniel: In your opinion, what is the best way to overcome the stigma attached to mental health?
As someone who has suffered from mental health issues for a while (I’m starting to imporve, though), I am interested in how we should overcome the stigma. If you know someone with a mental health issue,I am pretty sure you are aware of what stigma can do. So what’ the best way to overcome it?

I promote awareness…
I was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia a few years back that included anorexia and self harm.
after many months of inpatient treatment i rejoined the community and continued therapy.
I am now a Registered nurse in a busy emergency department however am no longer on any psychiatric medication (was on clozapine, seroquel and respiridal). sure i get symptomatic at times but nothing to this point where i havent managed.
i am open to anyone who wants to know more and will discuss symptomology both to my collegues at work and to patients who present with mental health complaints.
my awareness of my own illness allows me to have a greater understanding of what others are going through…
And if i can survive and be a productive member of society and provide support to those with mental illness, their families, i can start to break down the walls that hold those ashamed of their illness down and give them some of the tools they need to really live life once more <3
