Question by Peace69: How much does exercise have to do with mental sharpness and memory?
I know I’m answering my own question, but I would like to know other people’s experiences with exercise and feeling mentally sharp. Please let me know of differences in mental acuity between weeks or months of not exercising and exercising regularly. I’m particularly interested in those people who have lost a lot of weight and the memory performance differences between being overweight and being at normal weight.

Question by : How much exercise is needed for the average Border Collie?
I have two border collies and their exercise needs are very different! They both came from the same litter (I raised both as puppies) but one is a boy and the other is a girl. So far they are both 3 years old. The boy needs only around 30 minutes of exercise a day to be happy and calm while the girl can run for days on end before she gets tired! What’s the normal amount of exercise needed for the average border collie?

Answer by UHave2BeKiddingMe
For the normal/average Border Collie that I am used to being around its 23 out of 24 hours a day.

Every BC I know is a herding/agility/obedience dog and even with all that work the dogs still could go for more. My herding instructors BC works 8+ hours a day and she never tires out.

Your male is definitely not the norm.

Question by water_skipper: Question for socialists only: How much education should citizens get for free?
Question for socialists only: How much education should citizens get for free? I can’t find the data, but I know I saw a chart showing how countries with low education are very poor and countries with lots of education are much better off financially. So it stands to logic if a country were to give every citizen a free PhD quality education it’s per capita income would be highest in the world. Would you support this? Why or why not?

Question by Jacob J: How much education is required to be qualified for Immigration to Canada?
This is in relation to another question I asked.

Under the categories, Provincial Nominee, Skilled Worker, and the new Canadian Experience Class, what is the least amount of education required for Immigration to Canada?

Some people keep saying you need to have at least a 4 year degree or a baccalaureate etc to be qualified, yet the Canada Immigration website says you can qualify with less (2 year diploma, etc). So I’m just curious what should I believe and does anyone else have an idea of what the least amount of education is required?

You can actually qualify with no diploma under provincial nominee. Alberta and BC have semi-skilled options under their PNP’s so if you have experience as a bell hop, hotel room cleaner, kitchen helper, fast food worker and some others, you are in. You would only need a job offer from said province doing one of the jobs listed and apply for temporary work permit. Once you are working, you can apply to the PNP with the help of your employer and get permanent residency.

For skilled worker, you apply under a points system. You can get points for education, work experience, language skills, age and other things. You are ok to have fewer points in the education category if you have a lot of points in the other ones.

For Canadian experience, you can get it if you are considered a skilled worker. They have a code number for jobs, you can go to http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC-CNP/app/index.aspx and enter your job title and you’ll get some matching job titles back with 4 digit numbers. The 2nd number tells you the skill level of the job. If the 2nd letter is 0, 1 or 2, it’s a skilled job. If it’s 4 or 6, it’s a low skilled.

You can also be a skilled worker without having any university, that is if you are a tradesman.

Question by : How much time do Special Education Teachers spend outside of the classroom preparing for the next day?
I am highly considering majoring in Special Education. Right now it’s a toss up between Special Education and Business Education. I’m trying to evaluate the pros and cons of each.

My question is, how much time, approximately, does a special education teacher spend outside of the classroom preparing for the lessons for the coming days? Is it as much as a normal teacher, or more? More than an English teacher for example?

What type of work load can be expected outside of the classroom?
I know that IEDs drive people crazy, but I don’t mind that kind of paperwork.

I spend several hours of my own time preparing…but then again so does EVERY other teacher I know regardless of level or subject. The positive is that many parts of my planning can be done either online or saves to a data stick instead of carrying tons of books and folders around.

Question by : How much Education is required before an individual is considered for a position?
Working Adults are advancing their careers. (If they are working, why would they need more education)? Since 1946 we have provided hundreds of thousands of people with practical real world education, aimed at advancing their careers. That is the message I received. Yet no-one in this area is working. So how much education is required before an individual is considered for a position?

Question by Shan: How much more education would it take for a nurse to become a teacher?
I am stuck between the 2 careers so i am wondering i i get my RN degree and decide i want to be a teacher later how much more education do i need? bachelor of education? or do i have to complete an undergrad degree again then take the bachelor of education degree? i seen nurse educator degree but i think that’s for just working in universities and colleges that are training nurses right? or can you teach science to high school students with that as well?

Answer by ::eja::
To be an effective teacher and for most college universities you need to complete the undergraduate classes before getting admitted to the teacher candidate program. Even if you have a degree, expect another 4 years on top of the previous degree.

You have to account for the observations and student teaching portions, as well as classes. Teaching requires a lot of experience and a lot of work compared to the stereotypical beliefs of some people.
